Once, the soundtrack of childhood was the soft crackle of mulmul jhablas and starched petticoats sunning themselves on a balcony rail. Now, that memory feels drowned out by a riot of cartoon prints and polyester blends. But for our fussy little ones who can’t stand scratchy labels, tight elastics, and dyes that bleed, kidswear brands have levelled up.
Parents are no longer happy defaulting to whatever’s available. They’re reading labels, avoiding synthetics, and expecting children’s clothes to feel (and look) as good as their own. Which is where this new set of homegrown brands comes in. We’re talking better fabrics, a clearer point of view, and no interest in itchy compromises.
